Branding
26/27 SEASON:
The visual identity for DanceWorks 26/27 season is built around a bold and dynamic design language that reflects the energy and movement of the dance community it supports. A minimalist approach, combined with the strategic use of negative space, creates a strong and distinctive presence while allowing the dance works themselves to remain the focus.
Confident typography provides a sense of momentum, establishing a clear visual voice without competing with the imagery. Simple, structured layouts ensure consistency across communications and create a recognisable identity for DanceWorks. The use of the graphic line gives symbolism to the longevity of DanceWorks, recognizing its continued support and work for the Toronto dance community.
Central to the concept is a commitment to preserving the integrity of the artists and their performances. Rather than heavily manipulating production imagery, the design framework supports and enhances the photography, allowing each work to be represented authentically while remaining unified under the DanceWorks brand.

24/25 SEASON:
For the 2024/25 season, the DanceWorks visual identity was refreshed through a playful reinterpretation of its existing logo. Rather than redesigning the mark, the focus was on evolving it in a way that felt contemporary while preserving its recognizability and connection to the organization.
The original logo was enhanced with a bold outline, transforming it into a sticker-inspired graphic that introduces a sense of energy, flexibility, and approachability. Paired with an updated colour palette of vibrant lime green and soft lavender, the refreshed identity brings a brighter, more expressive character to the organization. The result is a visual system that feels fresh and engaging while remaining rooted in DanceWorks' established identity.
